It was a special day for those receiving care at Breslin Cancer Center, as members of a local Girl Scout troop delivered more than 75 care packages for patients in the infusion center.
Girl Scouts from Troop #30197 in Potterville, MI visited the Breslin Cancer Center last week to bring the care packages they put together themselves and then tour the infusion center. The project helped them earn their Silver Badge, which requires 50 hours of community service. They’ve held fundraising events since last August in order to purchase the items to put in the care packages.
Kathleen Pettigrew was one of the patients who received a care package from the Girl Scouts.
"We need this," said Pettigrew. "We need goodness, kindness and love. The teamwork that went into this is beautiful."
